Laura Perry

Laura is a dedicated and passionate fitness professional with a CanFit Pro Personal Trainer Specialist certification earned in 2017. Her journey into fitness began in 2015 when she underwent a personal transformation journey, losing over 80 lbs. Her passion for heavy lifting began in 2016 when she discovered her love for powerlifting, a sport in which she has excelled in. Notably, she proudly holds a world deadlift record with the World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF).

Beyond her personal achievements, she has leveraged her expertise to positively impact the lives of many. As a seasoned coach, she has guided numerous individuals towards their fitness goals, specializing not only in powerlifting but also in areas such as police foundations, competitive paddle boarding and those desiring to be stronger in everyday life. Her coaching philosophy is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment in the gym, helping individuals of all backgrounds and fitness levels feel comfortable and empowered on their fitness journey. Dayman Perry is a seasoned martial artist with over 40 years of experience in classical Japanese martial arts, including kenjutsu, kyudo, and jujutsu. He has been studying Japanese swordsmanship under the esteemed Douglas Tong Sensei since 1994 and serves as the Chief Instructor at Getsumei-no-Michi Dojo. Having operated several successful dojo, Dayman is passionate about sharing his extensive knowledge and fostering a deep appreciation for Japanese culture and martial arts.

Dayman's teachings emphasize an understanding of fundamental principles, balancing technical skill with mental discipline, while honouring the rich cultural heritage of these ancient practices. His dedication to these foundational tenets ensures that students not only learn the physical techniques but also delve into the philosophical and cultural dimensions that shape classical Japanese martial arts. This holistic approach enables students to develop a profound understanding of the traditions and disciplines inherent in these arts.
